Step 1.  Once your program is open you are ready to start digitizing, the first thing we need is to create a work area, this is accomplished by creating a NEW file.

Create a NEW file work area.

Manual reference.
I would like you to show me how.
I am ready to continue.

Do you have Corel Draw installed on your computer?

Yes

No

This is a "Vector" image file or "condensed" image file format.

Place the image into your work area.

This is a "Vector" image file or "condensed" image file format.

You will not be able to import this file extension directly into SEU, it will need to be exported from the originating software to one of the following formats:

Vector format:..................................     .emf , .wmf, .cmx
Raster format:...................................    .bmp, .clp, .jpg, .gif, pcx, .tga

This is a “RASTER” image  or "expanded" image file format.

Add Raster image to work area.

Consult your scanner software on specifics in scanning images to the computer.

SEU uses a TWAIN source to bring the scanned image directly into the work area.

4a.  Edit Vector.
Vector image files are produced using drawing or illustration programs.

Elements are comprised of mathematically defined shapes which allow the greatest flexibility in editing options of color, shape, size.

4b  Edit Raster.
Raster image files are typically produced through digital cameras, digital scanners, or by pixel editing programs.

Elements are comprised of a bitmap grid of pixels represented by squares or rectangles they have a rigid nature that makes editing color, shape and size extremely difficult.
Vectorizing options depend solely on the quality of the software of origin.

Drawing or illustration exported files to Raster formats improve the quality and options tremendously when brought into SEU.

Scanning or file conversions between pixel editing programs create a limited opportunity for vectorizing the image.

We are currently composing a variety of online training exercises that will help you become familiar with the digitizing processes that Stitch Era Universal offers you.

The basic outline will be free, more detailed instruction has a fee as well as some of the videos.

Videos here are very basic with no sound, it's just a quick glimse into what you need to do to get you started.

This section is currently under construction but you can look around and check it out.

Please feel free to leave some feedback so that I can improve the experience.
